Well, summer has come to an end and we’ve entered what some people believe is the best season of all, autumn. Warm days. Cool nights. And ofcourse the wonderful changing foliage of our deciduous trees. Autumn, thankfully, also signals the end of bushfire season. This summer we’ve seen unprecedented horror in our bushfire prone areas with massive losses to life and property. Owner and Manager of SwingShift Nurses, Eric Smith, is a volunteer firefighter with the CFA and he has witnessed first hand the devastation brought about by these fires. Anyone wishing to donate tothe Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund may do so through the agency and we’ll forward those funds on. Alternatively, we encourage you to donate through the Red Cross by ringing 1800 811 700. Our thoughts are with all those that have been affected by the fires.

Since our last
newsletter we’ve had a couple of staff changes. After nearly four years
with us Liz Kerr has accepted a senior position at Epworth hospital
working in her favourite area, operating suites. This is a great
opportunity for Liz; we thank her for a great job whilst with us, and
wish her well in her new venture. Sally in Allocations left us as a
result of a move to the country and we welcomed Amber, Riley and Emily
as new Allocators. Please make yourself known to them next timeyou ring
us or we ring you.

- If you haven't already done so, remember to provide us with your email address. This will enable us to email the newsletter, information updates, pay advice slips or job offers.
- Complete the OH&S questionnaire on the back of your docket prior to sending it in to us. This information forms part of our OH&S management system so it's vital we receive it from you.
- Once again we're looking for clinical teachers for the universities and TAFE's. If you have an interest in this area then Give Nicky a call. You don't require any special education qualifications to do this work.
- Make use of the calling cards we provided you with when you joined the Agency. These help to provide you with extra work by leaving your details at facilities that can then call us and request you by name.
- Do you know who your nurse manager is? If not ring the agency and fi nd out and while you're speaking with them update your avails.
