Rural and remote nursing is probably one of the most challenging and yet rewarding forms of nursing awaiting you.  Imagine in some locations at times being the only health professional on duty, relying on radio to consult and team manage and then utilising the Royal Flying Doctor Service to transport your patient to metropolitan hospitals when they need them.  You generally require emergency department experience and be a registered midwife but not always.  There plenty of other opportunities for general and mental health nurses.
